    OnLoad of FormView not being called (XXXFields.ascx template)

    The OnLoad event of my FormView in one of my field templates is not being fired.  

    Is this by design?  Does this have something to do with the fact that this formview is inside one of my UserControls/XXXXXXFields.ascx user controls (which is being used in a InsertItemTemplatePaths inside a MultiFormView)?

     I think this is to do with the way the templates are loaded - I've noticed that various events in the underlying ascx don't get fired.  It's a pain but mostly I've been able to work around it.
