    Jason Bunting's WilsonORMapper template

First of all, thank you Jason for creating this template. It's eased my introduction into the world of ORM.

One question though - can you possibly modify the template to use .NET 2.0 generics? Correct me if I'm wrong but from what I can see the collections do not yet use generics and I still have to check for types?

    Thanks,

    Dany.

First off, I am glad they were useful for you. As for modifying the templates, you may make whatever changes you see necessary or needed - it is true that it has been a while since I released a new version of these, and I actually do have a newer version which uses generics, though the design may not be what one would expect...

I will do my best to get the latest version of these uploaded the my website and then post here when that is done. Again, feel free to make the changes to your own copy of the templates; I don't devote the same amount of time to these much anymore because my schedule is such that I don't have it to give.

    Re: Jason Bunting's WilsonORMapper template

Thanks Jason, I shall look forward to it!

In the meantime, I am using your template with MySQL database. I'm having a bit of problem trying to set a nullable boolean column. What's the best column type to use for this in MySQL? "Bit" is mapped to ushort I think, and even when the column is nullable the class member is not. Bool or Boolean is mapped to sbyte and again that's not nullable.

Any comments/suggestions from anyone would be greatly appreciated

    Cheers,

    Dany.

I don't know much about using MySQL with the templates and WORM - I would suggest posting to Paul Wilson's forums if this is a WORM issue, since he would be more apt to give advice in that area.

I will try to get those templates posted within the next 5 days and post here.

    Re: Jason Bunting's WilsonORMapper template

Today I posted to my site the current version of the templates for .NET 2.0 (listed as "WilsonORMapper Framework exclusively for .NET 2.0") - these are not 'complete' in the sense that I see some gaping holes for things that I want (I just finished a project using them and they were good enough for what we were doing). Again, these are specifically for .NET 2.0 and I have not updated the ones for earlier versions simply because I haven't had a need to and don't plan on changing those any time soon because of the lack of time and interest in doing so.

I hope these are helpful to someone, let me know if there are any glaring mistakes with them or if you would like to contribute.

    Thanks

    Re: Jason Bunting's WilsonORMapper template

Are there any samples or getting started links to help with these templates, especially the newer WilsonORMapper Framework exclusively for .NET 2.0?  FYI robbymeier's link/samples webpage is no longer online.

Hmm, no. I have been out of sorts on that stuff lately and, while I use it quite a bit, don't have as much time for it now as I used to. Funny thing you are writing about it now though, I am hoping to have some time in the next week for this kind of thing because I am between projects right now. I can't make you any promises, but let me see what I can get done in the next few days.

Feel free to get my email address from within the download of the current stuff and write me with any specifics.

    Thanks!
